Word Lens

Post by Jiratso »

So, I've come across this app on the AppStore, which could seem quite helpful in translating various languages into a language of your choice. I've put it in here because I was thinking of how useful I think it would be in the world of origami.
The app requires no Internet connection, and uses the camera on your device to scan and translate words:

There are 10 types of people in this world. Those who know binary code, and those who do not.

That is awesome, Jiratso! But, Unfortunately, I don't have a mobile... And obviously it won't work on computers!

Ok I had a look at this app...
Firstly it's free to download but then you have to pay for every different language you want to translate too.
Secondly you can't import a photo, you can only take a photo... So if I am browsing something on my iPhone and I see something I want to translate. I can't screenshot and then import... I have to take a photo. And I'm pretty sure it's impossable to take a photo of my phone screen using the camera on the back :P
So for me this app is useless...
The only limit in origami is your imagination and your patience
