Very interesting... The paper seems to add a "round" feeling to it

Nice alien Jared, did you use lokta for the background?

I've designed and folded this today from one 30cm square of foil paper (no cuts).

So, who knows what it's supposed to be? If you need a hint you can look here.
For the solution look here :-) Or you could read the latest discussion on Wolf's blog which inspired me to do this model (I know, the elephant is missing...)

The folding method for this model was basically stolen from Robin Glynn's Eiffel Tower and is based on a 32x32 grid. The biggest problem is shaping the dome to look anything dome-like and it can probably be done better than I managed.
So long and keep folding ^_^

Reminds me of the front cover of the little mermaid.

Or the Tunak Tunak Tun video. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it  The reflection is pretty cool, the ripples in the foil add to that.

Hello, everyone! ^O^

I'm a big fan of origami, and I've been folding about two years now. I'm 21 years old and I live in Finland. 8) Also new to this forum!

So, here are some models folded by me :

Unicorn, by Satoshi Kamiya
Folder : Me ( Salli )
Folded from a giant sheet of wrapping paper. Too bad I don't remember the size.
*Note* Below the ears it seems to be a hole, but it's just a shadow created by my bad digital camera.

Horse, by Roman Diaz
Folder : Me again
Folded from standard cutted a4-sized copy paper.

Anatida, by J.Peña
Folder is the same, and the size again a4-copy paper.

Pegasus, by J.Anibal Voyer ( a mini-version! with added mouth. )
Folder : Me
Folded from 15cmx15cm sheet of kami.

Very nice folds :D I'm confused as to how you got that shadow that looks so much like a hole...

Good eyes, Joe. Yep, that's a scrap strip of lokta. (About 5" x 30")

Excellent model Daydreamer I love this type of models of objects (if you can call a palace an object). Could we please see a top view of it?
