I couldn't resist this challenge so here's my attempt from a 22cm square of foil paper (no cuts).wolf wrote:Sydney Opera House anyone?

The base is just simple boxpleating from a 20x20 grid. The difficult part (as with the Taj Mahal) is the shaping. But with a lot of patience it should be possible to turn the base into a really nice representation of the Sydney Opera House.

Here a picture from the front (back?) to proof that the two parts are connected and not from separate sheets.

So long and keep folding ^_^

GET OUT OF MY SIGHT All you're missing are the color changes windows (only on the front sails in the different rows), and the small building in back.
Gerwin, you may punch Cuppy into his face if you wish.

Well then, here's my next attempt at the Sydney Opera House, this time including the smaller third building. (I knew that this building existed but decided to ignore it for my first attempt to keep the symmetry of the model.)

This was folded from a 50cm square of foil paper and is based on a 32x32 grid.

I used the extra paper needed for the third house on the one side to add some stairs on the other side.

Also note that the inside of the front sails is (not very cleanly) colour-changed (which already would have been possible in my first version as well).

The interesting thing about this model is the CP, which very closely resembles the layout (floor plan) of the building.
