yeah... I wish I could design such a model myself hehehe... I forgot to mention that it's best Hojio Takashi's model, in my opinion. It is one of the most complex figures I've ever fold, having more than 280 steps... took me three days to fold it.

anyway, is one of my favourite's since it's a super complex bird based human figure (not box pleated).

Though thanks for the confidence :D

I'm working on a series of horses. Rather thatn putting the photos all on this topic, I will start a new topic. But here is an example:
Unicorn, from an uncut square. The shaping of the tail was taken from Kamiya's Unicorn, but the base is totally different.

Dang, Quentin... I like youre more than Kamiya's. That horn is beast, and I love the shape of the torso. Publish a book already  .

Thank you Jeoss! Publishing a book is on my mind, but it's not a piece of cake though!
My next Unicorn will be better and folded from duo paper to show the color-changes. I hope to fold it this weekend.

I like the unicorn! The only thing I have to say is that the neck is a little too long.

I don't think so. If you just slide the neck a little bit down, it looks ok to me

Post a photo of a real life unicorn, and we can all make comparisons...

FWIW Quentin, have a quick look at the CP for my unicorn. I found a good 'cheat' way of preventing a stripe of colour occurring down the back of colour change models. I think I can see how you've done parts of yours (stretched half frog base for head?) and you might find the utilisation of the tucked corner helpful.

I once set up an origami PLC. But the business folded.

I beg your pardon, pardner. In Texas, all real unicorns have horns - they are called alicorns. The urban myth is that unicorns shed their horns, like deer... That's just not true. Real Jackalopes also have horns.

BTW, if you look up unicorns and "James Thurber" I believe that you may find a story which describes how unicorns like gardens and eating flowers.

oh lad, believe me, the other day I had a cup of tea with mr. bigfoot and the yeti and they both agreed in the point that unicorns have no horns. :) in fact the word uni-corn comes from the latin words unio (single) and cornu (wing). mr bigfoot said that the single-wing looked pretty gawky when trying to fly with its tiny single wing. so they decided to make a horn out of the wing and put it onto the forehead, just to make the story more interesting. I'm pretty sure that's true, mr bigfoot and the yeti never lie to me :)

#EDIT#
you can not link to pictures that are placed on your haddisk. you need to upload the picture somewhere (i.e. imageshack.us)

Lion and Lioness, a combination of Kasahara's lions from Creative Origami, and the Pegasus (forgot the creator) from this year's Christmas book.

That would be "Unus" meaning "one" and "Cornus" meaning "horn".

Anyway, Qtrollip's unicorn looks excellent. The proportions are looking good and I like the way the horn looks.
