My interminable fascination with origami that requires lots of parallel lines continues. The two designs shown are 32x32, but then the pleating doubles that (almost). Box pleated in the center, then goran pleated ( I started calling them that when Goran showed me a pleating method, and then I deconstruct the edges and do a constrained collapsed on the central box pleat. The idea that I was going with, and failed on the black one is "Pandora's Box." The idea that something dangerous was constrained by these curved jail bars and in the center I was tryin to make some insect/spider or a poisonous orchid that was held back into someone peeled back the layer and freed that which was bad. It failed for a couple of reasons so I started playing with organic deconstruction which is a phase I went through a year and a half ago. The green box precedes the black one and what I love about deconstructed pleated boxes is that you can invert them. The first pick is one direction and then I push the center through and get the other two.

Wow Cedison. I wish I had your patience. And skill. And concentration. I love that first object, especially the depth of it!

Here is my latest Pegasus.
Please give me input on how to improve the wings, they are driving me crazy!

Thanks Qtrollip. It actually takes me far less time to fold a bowl than to do Kamiya's Kirin or Unicorn.

The body is great. I really like the hooves and the structure of his torso.

I don't design animals much, but it appears the wings are backwards. Could you angle or pleat the paper to make what should be the feathers go towards the back end and put the creases/pleats to make the wing to the oppisite sides? Finally on the top arc of the wing a curbed pleat to give the wings a curved three dimensional effect might help. Although take what I say with a grain of salt because I don't have any idea how to design a complex animal.

Yes, that's what Joseph Wu also said about the wings, so I guess I'll have to change it that way. I just don't have the energy to fold the whole thing again!

Atlas revisited, the sphere a bit larger, and the head also totally round. The back (not shown) is closed and claen, meaning no edges running across it.
I used cotton wool stuffed into the globe to keep the shape, but now it's top-heavy. That's why I got the wire around (behind the head) to keep the model upright.
I feel I'm getting closer to the result I want, which is a completely 3D sphere with an anatomicaly correct man, which is also 3D. This one is still a bit rough, but I think on the right way.

Cedison, your creations are unbelievable. As someone wrote here, your patience etc. I would like to have. Unfortunately my health situation makes un-possible to sleep 3,5 hours per day

and I cannot fold so much.

Quentin, you can try to make wings of paegasus similar to wings of Dave Brill's fairy.

I see, you are still working on Atlas statue! I like it. I have one more idea about it. Which picture you used as model? I found this one on Czech webs and it is almost the same as your statue.

Thanx Ondrej. This Atlas is really difficult to fold, and needs thin, shapeable and strong paper!
I put it across the room, and it looked good from far, but is still far from good!

The bottom of the globe is the difficult part, where it needs to narrow and meet up with the shoulders. Apart from that, the rest should work.
