I folded Phoenix 3.5

Post by 飛竜 »

I recently folded my very first phoenix 3.5 after so many trials
I know its not perfect, and the wings need to be shaped better but so far this is the best i could do (that paper is not folding friendly).

My room was a mess ha ha ha so i blurred some parts

That's a kinda neat effect! The blurring makes it look like the Phoenix is flying! I have to finish folding my attempt at it. I started months ago and never got around to finishing it.
If you can't fold it, try a bazooka.

Great folding, I'm just not a fan of the shinyness

I made some changes to Peterpaul Forcher's Goat, adding color-changes where there weren't any before. There's a lot of extra paper tucked away that made this pretty easy.

I recently folded Max Hulme's Jack in the Box, it's a great one piece, box pleated model, one of my favourite "Action Models":

After taking about a week off from folding, I finally got to folding my last piece of paper. Here is Kamiya's Long Headed Locust:

an impressive subject matter and cute. IMHO, the head should be just a tad bit bigger in relation to the "star" snout. my first impression looking at it otherwise was a cthulu creature/elder one type monster.

Thanks!
Hmm, looking at the model now, I think you are right.
Well, I didn't actually look at the actual animal while folding anyway so the look is kinda cartoonish... But I still like it. Could change the head though. :)

Love the realism in that, great crumpling, I can see you've put time into it.

I folded Robert Lang's Hercules Beetle from "Origami Insects II".

30cmx30cm square of triple tissue paper treated with MC. I used 3 sheets (one black and two brown) because the black bleeds on the other. It was the only way for me to get some paper with well-distinguished colors, but then the paper is rather thick... I have to find better black paper.

Very nice beetle Zealot!

I've folded a waterbomb tessellation by Eric Gjerde, reverse engineered from this photo on his photostream: http://www.flickr.com/photos/origomi/43 ... otostream/
