You did printed the pattern on the paper? or the paper is allready has a pattern?

The small turtles are from bought "Origami Turtle Paper". It comes in 12 different colour combinations and is 7x7cm large. For the big turtle that I folded I scanned in such a paper and printed it on A4 paper, but it should be possible to draw such a pattern as well. Just keep in mind that the two half circles on the sides become head and tail, the corners become the legs the middle is the upper shell and the remaining paper should become the bottom shell.
When working with usual kami it is possible to colour change the legs by making outside reverse folds instead of valley folds.

I found a diagram for the traditional turtles http://waldco.googlepages.com/turtle.htm. I think I have met such a turtle before, but since I consider it is not a beautiful models at that time, I did not try to fold till now
