Finally got around to folding again, here's a modular I designed. It's based on a grid of equilateral triangles, and it's folded from twenty squares. Not sure how original it is, but I based the shape off of something of Miyuki Kawamura's.

Very complex model... i found it hard to shape, positioning the body and shell.

CDO Convention Book - Satoshi Minotaur

Post by HankSimon »

Re: @Ragnarox: The diagrams are in the recent CDO Convention Book

Try sending a query in English about purchasing the CDO convention book 2009 to the emails of both of the people at the bottom of this page:

- Hank Simon

BTW, I believe there is a CP, but I couldn't find it.

For what it is worth, I joined the CDO once to get a few books that they had that no one else did. It was a royal pain. Perhaps I made it way harder than it needed to be, but they don't accept paypal or a postal money order. They want you to do an international funds transfer, which probably isn't a big deal for a larger national bank, but my little bank was going to charge me a hefty fee to do it. I ended up finding a kind soul that let me send them a paypal payment and they took care of payment on the Italian end. It was really expensive. for the whole thing (membership + books and shipping). If there are other books they have in stock that would make a large purchase worthwhile that might make it worthwhile.

They are a good group with an interesting yearly publication but for the hassle it just wasn't worth it to me to do again. Like I said, I may have just made it more difficult than it needed to be, so if thats the case, feel free to ignore me or make suggestions on a smoother process next time. The staff was very responsive to emails though, so communication is relatively prompt.
