Simplifying is complex
Simplifying is complex
I finally started making some complex models with the tissue foil I received from the origami shop.... BUT i feel kinda disappointed... The paper is too thick still!!! And I wanted to eventually make the ancient dragon
. Now that I know this paper can get very thick I'm out of ideas of what to fold the dragon out of.... any help???
Well I made a Pegasus out of 5 inch tissue foil (very nice) and a H. Beetle out of 12 inch (30 cm) tissue foil. It did feel like I had to bend metal for the last steps where the model gets thick but I love the end results!!! I also didn't crimp the back end of the beetle in fear of screwing the model up!

oh wow Ragnorax your AD turned out pretty nice... was it very thick? That's all i hear from people on this forum that the AD is very very thick.. And did you need that 64x64 cm paper? do you think you could have done it on 30x30? (that's all I have is like 18 sheets of 30x30cm). I'm anxious to fold it... as soon as I finish Robert Lang's scorpion, I'll start on the AD and hopefully I'll have a enough skill too!

Well thanks for the advice about the paper for the AD. So what is the perfect paper for the AD?? (other than origamido) I don't want to pay like 14 USD for one piece of paper. Would regular tissue paper work??

Beautiful fold Andrey!
And Lpatch, it was pretty nice to fold with, its very durable and the sinks werent too hard to do (so you dont have to worry about rips), but it is rather thick. I wouldnt recommend folding it with less than 50x50cm though, because the center of the body is very thick and its hard to make the details with less than that size.
Good luck with your fold though =]
