tskorigami

Post by newbpcpfolder »

hey, my name is JS, I've been here for a while but only now have i decided to make a gallery for myself =D
i'm gonna start out with my oldest fold, chronologically, and i'll only post the best of what i have; i don't wanna spam my first post. all of these are designed by me, unless otherwise mentioned ;)
Image
petr stuchly - hermit crab
one of my favorite models in origami ever =D it was what got me into the whole boxpleating thing! it's very special to me; i still have it from over 2 years ago (when i first got into folding)
Image
eagle by me, structure inspired by kade chan's werewolf =)
Image
deer by me. one of my most complex packings. note: i folded it yesterday, but i'm posting it here to maintain chronological order.
Image
fiddler crab
Image
crab. this is based on a similar structure as the fiddler, just repositioned.
Image
longhorn beetle by me, i think this was inspired by something pete put up on his flickr photostream =D
Image
dragonfly by me. it's an experiment with diagonal symmetry which has turned out successful! :D
Image
stag beetle - co designed by petr stuchly =D
Image
scorpion - not one of my best (i don't even like it) but whatever ^^
Image
flying cockchafer - one of my best packings in a cp yet; it's based entirely off a 32x32 grid =D
Image
cyclommatus metallifer - my best stag beetle yet! the jaws can be longer but whatever, that was the best i could fit on a 40x40 grid.
Image
flying samurai helmet beetle - i have a better version now, but i still gotta fold it :B
Image
samurai helmet beetle - my best samurai helmet beetle yet! it even has eyes _OO_ (those are supposed to be antennae XD)
Image
flying mantis
aaaand this is out of chronological order but this is personally my favorite design of my own:
Image
rose, dedicated to mckayla rose maroney, because reasons (≧◡≦)

i use tracing paper ;)
i believe you can buy it at any stationery store. i buy it at our local stationery.
i mean, it's not really that good for super complex models, like, say, which require large grids (like 48x48), but it works nicely enough most of the time.

I get 2 types of tracing paper in delhi...
1 is heavy and thick and holds creases quite well
the other is very thin.

eh, well, i get two varieties as well, but one is waxy but the other is normal paper, which are kinda more thinner than other papers (which is what i use) ;)
it isn't too good to fold many-layered models (not necessarily 'super complex' as that might imply), and it's a bit difficult for thinning out flaps after folding the base, but i try to work it out anyhow XD
