Hey everyone! Welcome to my Gallery!

Now for some introductions: My name Is Alejandro and I live in the US. I've been doing origami since I was a kid thanks to the Discovery Channel en EspaƱol and to my mom who would always teach me the simple models that came on during the commercials. I only recently started actually trying to improve my skills so I'm still nowhere near as good as I'd like to be. As for folding, I prefer to fold wildlife, mythical creatures, and roses so those are mainly the types of models that I will be posting.

For now, I will only be posting models folded by me but designed by others, but I hope to begin to design a few of my own models soon. Thank you to anyone to visits my gallery and I would be honored if you would leave feedback to help me improve my folding and presentation skills, as well offering me advice on designing and models you would like to try my hand at folding.

Thank You Eamon! For my first update I chose to fold Kade Chan's Fiery Dragon from a Black and Red sheet of homemade double tissue. This is a great model and I love how the wings have the color change.

I used the extra double tissue that remained to cut another square that I then used to fold John Montroll's Seahorse. This fold was quite simple and I really like how it turned out.

Those are both spectacular folds. The fiery dragon is one of my favorite models, and you have really done justice to this design. Keep 'em coming! :D

Thank you Eamon! I spent quite a while trying to decide what two colors to use. I decided on black and red because black makes the dragon seem fierce while the red highlights that fierceness. As for OrigamiGeek, thank you! I am very proud of that fold.

Hey Everyone! For this update I decided to showcase one of my favorite models: the Smilodon by Satoshi Kamiya. I folded it twice from 2 different types of paper. For one, I used 30x30 Terry tissue-foil and for the other, I used 45x45cm regular origami paper. Apart from the paws, which I can never seem to get right, I am very happy with these two folds but my personal favorite is the regular origami paper one.

I like the tissue-foil fold more. You can notice the better paper.
Looking forward to seeing more pictures.

I agree with you there. The tissue foil is clearly better quality. The reason I prefer the other is because of the color scheme.

Now for today's update: The Kawasaki Rose and Kamiya's Yellow Bird!
The Kawasaki rose was folded from a 25x25cm sheet of untreated unryu. With this fold, I realized just how hard it is to fold untreated unryu; it did not want to hold its shape and I basically had to wrangle it into position. The finished rose, however, is beautiful and vibrant.

The Yellow Bird was folded from a 35x35cm sheet of terry tissue foil. This model was a fun fold and now I can check it off of my Works of Satoshi Kamiya to-fold list.

So I'm guessing you got some unryu? Everything looks great. :D Especially the first smilodon, its not just great for being from kami, its great compared to any paper! I might be able to help on the front paws, once you know what to do, not so hard.

Actually, that unryu came with a pack I had ordered from Origami-Shop. I'll definitely have to order some more but as a poor college student that will have to wait. :P Thank you though! I will definitely need the help whenever I decide to fold the smilodon again.

Well, no matter how long the wait is, I can assure you it will be worth it. Also, a fairly cheap paper that works really well is tracing paper. It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you know how to handle it, it works amazing. Here's an ancient dragon folded from it. Truth be told, I think its better than my A.D. made of unryu!

I have some tracing paper but I just don't like the lack of color. That is a very nice ancient dragon though! I still haven't been able to make one yet, but it will happen soon. 8) As for my update, here are a few models that I folded during the week while slacking off instead of studying for the Organic Chemistry test I took yesterday. (Don't worry, I still studied a enough! :D )

Eastern Dragon by Joseph Wu: As soon as I saw this model, I knew I had to fold one for myself. Folded from a 5:1 rectangle of homemade double-tissue foil.

Blue Shark by John Montroll: Excellent design, easilly one of my favorites. Folded from 30x30 terry tissue-foil.

Orca by Satoshi Kamiya: I enjoyed folding this model and am very happy with how it came out. Folded from a 40x40 square of double tissue.

Hey everyone! After a brief break due to school, I'm back and I've finally folded one of my origami goals! I present: Satoshi Kamiya's Ancient Dragon, folded from a 90cm square of double tissue and MC folded at the end to better shape the details. After folding this model, I can say that the sinks in the process are just plain evil. This is my first successful fold after about 3 tries and I am extremely proud of this fold.

Also, I could use ideas from you guys. I have a sheet of double tissue foil (black/gold) that I don't know what to fold from. I would prefer an insect with a nice color change but any ideas are welcome. I can cut the sheet up to 45x45cm.

Any ideas and constructive criticisms are welcome!

Nice Ancient Dragon! Congrats on getting through such a tedious model. Also, you could use the tissue foil for Kamiya's Hercules Beetle, Kade Chans Fiery Dragon, A black and gold unicorn by Kamiya. I know you probaly don't wanna go that complex after the A.D, but thats all I could think of. Oh or Roman Diaz's fox. Theres a tutorial on youtube
