This is the unveiling of the secret project that I was working on.
Before I get to any lengths about what it is, exactly, here is the relevant website: http://members.casema.nl/gertvandijk
It is a creature designed by Gert van Dijk for his xenobiology project on planet Furaha. it is called a "rusp" which comes from netherlandean word "rups", which means "caterpillar".
Don't let the name fool you, these fictional creatures can weigh as much as an african elephant and have an internal skeleton.
If it looks like both ends are the same, that would be right, there is a head on either end of the creature, but one of the heads is more important than the other, and the rear head merely allows this long and unable-to-turn-on-a-dime creature to see danger coming from behind and protect itself. based on the orientation of the knee joints, the animal is facing to the left.
speaking of knees, there are 24 legs - 12 pairs. hell on earth to fold!!! XD
48 by 48 grid, 50 cm square, 20 cm long when finished

this is my first folded model and design of 2014, a grinning face:

Design no.2 of 2014

a black widow spider
32 by 32 grid boxpleating with pythagorean stretches.
I tried to capture the propper limb proportions here, but the body is probably a bit too big in comparison... oh well... XD

My third design of 2014 - Cephalaspis, a jawless fish-like vertebrate from early Devonian period.
