Post a picture of the shadow of your model

Post by Brimstone »

I once read that there was an origamist that liked origami models based on the shadows they cast. I thought it was a cool idea and from time to time I put models in front of the light to see their shadows. Some of them look terrific, so I thought of opening a thread about this topic.

Here goes my first: Daniel Naranjo's Horse Image

Some shadows look better with sunlight. Maybe tomorrow I'll take a better picture.

I haven't been able to take a proper picture of the shadow in the sunlight. Also could any of the administrators move this thread to the General forum. By mistake I started it at the diagrams forum and it has nothing to do with diagrams

A model that fits here very well would be the "Elephant going North":

While it looks like an elephant the shadow has the form of an arrow (when light comes from the right direction) :-)
So long and keep folding ^_^

Very interesting... make sence when you think about it, though :)

I guess maybe sometimes we just don't notice the shadows. :?

But here's one.

Cool idea!
Here is a shadow of Dr. Lang's Lionfish. Sorry for the poor resolution.

If you can't fold it, try a bazooka.

I have done that picture some months ago (6th of july 2006 regarding to the file creation date on my computer). for some reason most people liked it much, although it wasn't done by purpose. the shadow-light-effect came out by pure random. I like that picture much and it was my pc-wallpaper for quite a long time :)
