No, he folded it as a rat pup, and then kept it until it grew. Only then did he take a photo of it....

well the ship can be put into the bottle in in single pieces that do fit through the opening and assembled inside of the bottle. :)

Hmm... interesting, Chris.
The way I know they put ships in bottle is the assemble the ships outside the bottle, and then fold all the protruding things like masts down to the belly of the ship.
Then they put the ship inside, and put all the masts back up with a special hook.
I can't imagine having to assemble a ship inside the bottle! :shock:

there are different ways to make a ship in a bottle. there's also a way in which they build the ship outside of the bottle, saw it into slices and glue it together inside the bottle. thats a way to get ships into bottles that would normaly not fit through the opening. like this one
