I drew up the crease patterns for the Spike Tessellation today.
I've got Single Unit, 4 Unit and 16 Unit for you.
Anything more than 16 units you'll have to figure out for yourself.

Today at work I discovered a new type of paper to fold with. Pages of Magazines!
They're colourful, thin, hold a crease well enough, and most importantly, plentiful!
This tessellation came about from just experimenting with pleats and layering on a hexagon.
I'm quite pleased with the result, but the details don't show up too well in the photos because of how patterned the paper is.
It is a hexagon sitting on top of three more hexagons, and they in turn are sitting on 3 more hexagons and the final later consists of six hegaons peeking out around the edges.
The last photo shows the other side of the paper.
I think I'll fold another one from plain white paper to show off the shapes better.

Wow! Nice tesselation! I really like the fact that the tesselation looks flat and does not look too creased, unlike when I fold with magazine paper- well done!

Thanks for the reply legionzilla.
Yes, it's fairly flat, but the crease lines are quite visible, especially on the darker brown sections.
I was part way through folding it again from white paper now when I discovered an interesting variant so I thought I'd stop and take photos before continuing.

Here's the white paper version of my Hexagon Heap Tessellation. I got the lighting worked out well enough that you can see each hexagon fairly clearly this time.
Playing around with the Hexagon Heap I decided to raise all the vertices and squash them down into triangular pillows.
I like the puffy look so I didn't squash them all the way down flat.
Another pretty pattern revealed by backlighting.

Today I tried folding !TYZA!!'s Ninja Swordsman from Crease Pattern, but I ended up shaping it as an Egyptian god instead of a Japanese assassin.
So here is Anubis:
And a reference pic in case you didn't know what he looks like:
It's folded from the bit of paper you have left over when you make a square from A4.
Also tried folding Quentin Trollip's Pig.
Designed by Quentin Trollip, folded by me, from 10cm paper.
Diagrams at http://www.liveorigami.com/listings-details.php?id=99
I had some trouble with the closed sinks on the face which ended up giving me trouble with the eyes too.
I didn't put all the detail into the feet because it was just too intricate for the size of paper I was using.

The anubis is great! Box-pleated models are awesome!
The pig is pretty nice too, I'd say.

Inspired by Quentin's Pig I've been playing with some ideas for my favourite subject, gryphons and dragons.
These are just experiments but I'm quite pleased with the wings of the one in the middle. I think I'll keep developing that design and see if I can make it into something interesting.

I'm back!
Folding Australia was the push I needed to get motivated again. I've spent the last few months playing videogames more than doing origami, but I'm back into the origami again now.
Also, I have a new computer, and it runs Linux! Ubuntu to be more precise.
Because of that, I don't have good old Thumbs Plus for my basic image manipulation, so I've had to actually learn to use The GIMP to make my stereograms.
Anyway, here are some non-stereo photos of a princess design I'm working on for the October challenge. I hadn't worked out how to use GIMP well enough to make stereo photos of this one, and now I can't be bothered since I'll be making a new version soon anyway.
And here is a new tessellation I was working on yesterday.
It is composed of two major elements that I call Mushrooms and Boxes.
The boxes are the same boxes that I've made tessellations of before, but this time they en up at 45 degrees to the main grid. They actually turned up by accident because the mushrooms produced the sort of intersecting pleats that they are formed from.
The front white piece of paper is what I did the first bit of designing on, then the two white constructions behind that are the Mushroom and Box elements each surrounded by quarters of the other element.
The red piece at the back is my unfinished folding of a 32 by 32 grid version. I only managed to form a 16 by 16 section though before deciding to stop because it was too fiddly to be fun.
