My first origami design, the Adams Swallowtail Butterfly. This is based off of Michael LaFosse's butterflies. It's named after Sara Adams, who has taught me some of my fav origami models.

Thanks a ton. :D I'll try to keep designing origami models of all kinds. Until then you'll just have to wait. 8)

For some reason I just keep on coming back to look at these butterflies. They are amazing. Are you planning on releasing a diagram or CP for them?

Maybe Diagrams

Oh gosh, thanks. I just blushed! I've never diagrammed before, though. I might try for the first time for you guys, though. I just might post diagrams soon!

why don't you try and come up with them yourself? i believe that was michael's intent (for people to try to make their own butterflies using his design).

imho, lafosse-type butterflies are amongst the best. people try to hard to make complex butterflies, but invariably these don't look right (even satoshi kamiya's)--the most important feature are the delicate wings, almost by definition, and when authors try to add the required number of legs and lengthy attenae, the added bulk is extremely distracting.

This is just a test to try to get the photo to appear without you guys needing to go through a link to see it. It's a photo of a three-layered Spread-Hex Tesselation, folded by me.

That's what you should have. For Flickr photos you have to go to all sizes. Then choose the medium size. Next you have to right-click the image and copy image location (or whatever it's called in your browser. It wasn't always this complicated.

Of course, you also need to have BBCode on! (I turned it off just for this post.) You should always leave BBCode on.

I know for a fact in Firefox you can click and hold the photo and drag it to the URL bar then release and it will automatically go to that photo's direct link. I find this useful to bookmark photos I like.
