Re: Gachepapier
I'll post a picture of my setup next time I take shots, probably some time this or next week. It's just a little lightbox and some economy 5600K bulbs, really .
But I do go to some lengths in trying to get a good shot and probably make a dozen pictures (under various conditions) or more for each one you get to see . Yay for digital technology ! I'm not much of a photographer, but numbers work in my favour

Re: Gachepapier
This shot was taken this week-end, so you'll have to wait a little more for my set-up

Re: Gachepapier
This should give you a good idea of my lightbox:
It's about 60cm high, folds flat, don't remember where I bought it, was online - I just googled "lightbox" I guess.
The bulbs are economy 5600K, 25W (equivalent to 120W) each I think.
The lamps (a couple of inches too small to be perfect but good enough) come from a famous swedish meatball selling furniture maker ...
I use a tripod to stabilise my camera and avoid flash. Things look dark around my set-up, but that's because I haven't bothered to adjust anything in this picture, the inside of the box is really quite bright and the camera probably compensates the overall level of light to avoid the center to look overly exposed.

Search for "Sunpak 620-EBOX Camera Light" in Amazon. There are lots of similar products for <$100

Re: Gachepapier
Thanks Josh !
Haomaru - glad if it's any help - as HankSimon says, the box cost a lot less than 100 $ - maybe 40-50. I've found this kind of set-up has dramatically lowered the amount of time I spend shooting and enhanced my shots too.

Re: Gachepapier
Using light-boxes definitely helps enhancing your photo quality. If you want to buy a light tent make sure it is not too big, otherwise the lamps will not be able to give enough light to cover the needed area.
This is what I use at home: http://www.flickr.com/photos/scarygami/3633225159
You don't need to buy a full set like this (although its very good) but can also make one yourself easily like shown in the link by HankSimon. The most important parts are an even background (large sheet of paper) and good lamps (preferably daylight).

Re: Gachepapier
That's pretty nice ! I chose a bigger box because some of my models get quite big (30+ cm is not unusual) and I have some extra room in the basement anyway . That way things are quite comfortable to get side-shots without moving things around.
(dont take my last shot as an example though, it's pretty bad)
