[originally: gallery of grizzly man]

i'm still in two minds about opening my own gallery but if you'd like to get some critics - both positive or negative - for your creations or interpretations it's probably more effective to post a picture right here than to the "folded lately"-thread ...

the last picture was taken at preparations for an origami meeting in oktober 2010.
i've also tried a rectangle to produce a taller model.

a horned creature

Post by akugami »

i wanted to take part in the october challenge of 2010 but an idea came too late. the topic was about a thing or creature with "horns, corns and antlers".
so a few days ago i went through another boxpleating session and came up with this model ...

... and titled it a minotaur. with its plane face it probably reminds you more of a faun than of the cretan myth?

well, actually i wanted - or still want - to create a papermade copy of a special devil sculpture by thomas theodor heine, a german artist of the early 20th century. a picture of the original you can find here: http://www.lempertz.com/typo3temp/pics/749fd6bc7d.jpg

last night i've made some changes to the minotaur-base and got finally this version ...

it still doesn't suit the original but i think it's growing ...

i forgot to mention quality, format and dimensions of the paper used for the devil evolution - it's a kraft rectangle 1:2 (25cm : 50cm).

for what it's worth, i absolutely love the attitude of this newest little red guy. This one has character that I think the other ones lacked, particularly in the stance and the swept back horns.
