two steps in designing an own interpretation of the quasimodo character.
some may have seen the new design challenge by eric madrigal - started and running in honour of master joisel. there's a mini-contest to find a herald for guiding through the challenge - a quasimodo.

Image

the picture in the background is part of a publication about the gargoyles of the freiburg cathedral. the small guy was folded from a square 15x15 cm, the tall one from 23x23 cm.

Getting quite interesting, well done ! The legs are really good, as is the general pose. The face I'm not too fond of, but it's due more to the paper than to the model itself, all these radial creases are messing around with the rest...

I know it may not be to everyone's liking to to this, but have you considered a graft for the hands (fingers) and some face-details ?

thanks for your comment, gachepapier. the model is still a work in process and - indeed - the hands as well as the face do need some more shaping/sculpting.
but, for the moment i'm glad to see a development in the legs/feet and also the belt is an appreciated detail.
quasimodo's my first try in creating a new model from a classical base and there's a lot to learn from for me.

thank you, orislater!

i'm back again on folding devils and here's an update of my red one - i call him "akaoni" (red demon, if i remember right). there's a funny demon in my favourite animé - tatsu no taro (dragonboy). if i'll find a way to fold a drum, he'll become raijin - the god of thunder ...

ao-oni, the blue demon (or with his small drum may be "raijin", the japanese god of thunder)
