Almost everybody. 301 out of 312.
The tasks were pretty easy. We took it into account.

That's sad news.. pretty close though. Maybe adding petals on Flower in a heart was cosidered model modify, but its just an crimp and sink instead of pleat fold. Anyway, I loved folding this round models and i like the idea of making 2 rounds. Congratulations for the winners, good luck and inspiration for next round :D

For the ones who managed to get into round two. If you haven't noticed yet, the task book for the second round is now available on the user control panel. I didn't get an E-Mail, so I guess everyone else neither and the time runs.
Congratulations and good luck to everyone who made it.
And for everyone who didn't make it, heads up, there will be another year and another possibility.

Good luck, have fun!
Where and when can we buy this book?

Is it possible there is an error in the draw of the "Fragile hearts"? Below the second row of hearts, we can see 2 grid units... I have 3 :?:

The deadline for the round 2 has been changed to December 3. Check the updated timer in your profile.
Now you have an additional weekend to fold and photograph.

uhm, I believe there's an error in the Horseshoe Crab diagrams...
The fold line in step 69 is given, but then the corner in step 71 will be higher.. Moreover, the sink folds in step 72 on the same line, will create a small excess tip below the base line.. I open sinked them again, buy later, in steps 78-80, these two corners cannot be folded on the same line, but slightly higher.
Also fold 89 cannot be aligned with the edge from step 69, or it will exceed at the bottom..

How should we deal with this? Change the fold 69 to a different one, allowing all the next lines to line up, or fold all these steps on different lines, and just shape it nicely?

thank you!

@ale_beber, I can't fully understand what you mean. But if you fold the previous steps correctly your result must should be something like this:
step 68:

step 70:

step 71:

step 73:

step 89:

Perhaps you are confused by step 79. It's really easy - firstly need to do a small inner open sink, but I do not know how to draw it in a diagram, it should be obvious.
step 79:

step 81:

Sorry, I can't write anymore about the folding - it will be a little unfair, to participants who have already fold and upload this model. Perhaps you just should choose a thinner paper.

Another question. In task No 13 the Russian Hut. Do we have to fold exactly the CP or do we have to look also on the final model view for the downer part. Because the CP doesn't show we have to fold this down part.

A similar thing for Task No 5 the Cottontop Tamrin. The diagram shows a different version than the original fold by Kunsulu Jilkishiyeva. But the final view in the diagram shows the original version by Kunsulu. So do we have to fold exactly what the diagram steps says or are we also alowed to look at the final view in the diagram to change some color-changing parts for example.

Best wishes and thanks for the Olympiad and your work,
Allex
