Very nice model Finward, the posture is really good. A more interesting bird than it's close relatives, emus & rheas.

Never mind, Finward. It is very smart to use small part of the paper with different color and make amazing effect. Master Kawasaki did the same in one variation of his famous rose.

accidentally folded an albatross, which has the largest wingspan of all birds. I used a strip of paper 2.5 by 8.5. The strip is the exact portion you must remove from copy paper to make it square.

Here's my submission, a mama kangaroo with a joey in her pouch! MC-folded from heavy construction paper.

I like the Easter Island statue, Andrey. I also like the bird, but I think that the wings need to be much longer to be called an albatross.

The albatross looks pretty much inspired by Hung Cuongs Eagle...

I like the interpretation of the subject - the Moai is very nice, a few extraneous creases, but a good result.
I assume that as there are 2 opus #'s that they are from separate squares?

Absolutely various models. Wings and at them too a technique of folding different are similar only. At me usual BP mid-line simmetry

i dont think so... Not all albatross identical...Look it' s a a polynesian kind of black albatros. I fold my albatros from this photo prototype...
wings fold possible to make them more longly, quantities of a paper on the basis of model enough-it not a problem, it is simple so it is pleasant to me more, but thanks for comment

Well, decision time is here.
3rd place goes to
ori-gauthier with his kangaroo.
2nd place goes to
merman and his platypus. I think this model has a lot of potential. If it had been folded from more suitable paper it would probably have ended up in 1st place, especially since I just love those animals
