i'll try designing somthing else soon, seen as my sister recently went to cairo.

The CP for my very simple Pyramid.

I was working on a pyramid this month and I came across the same problem that I see that you found Josh, you can't simply use the creases in and out as it will have no height (which is why you left them there to give the appearance of steps).

I came up with the solution that I think might work:

The even layers in from the outside are of size 1. The odd layers are numbered 2n -1 where n is 1,2,3,... N where N is the number of steps of the pyramid. The layer 2n - 1 is of size n, so that it is one step higher than the previous one and thus sticks out by size 1. So each step is one step higher than the previous.

It is a very simple design, but it has the drawback that the precreasing grid quickly builds up as you increase N. In fact it increases more than quadratically with N! If I have it right the 6 step pyramid that I wanted to make would require divisions by 40ths (not confident that I am though).

ok. i will refold a very old pyramid design that i still haven't showed anyone. it has 4 sides and a base, much more efficient then this....

Hey Josh, I think anyone could have reverse engineered your pyramid in 5 minutes tops without a CP or diagram in sight xD

My take on an Egyptian cat.



Sort of lack of character. I made it out of a long rectangle.... Doesn't matter the size I made it from because as long as it's plenty longer than it is wide then it works for it. Oh yes, this one was made of a fluorescent piece of letter paper.

How I designed it was I was figuring out a way to do the samurai helmet out of a strip of paper and I did so but I realized it could make a great cat head too. So I designed legs and the tail is pretty straight forward.

It's a really easy model and every time I have a rectangular piece of paper I fold it. I have made many rip offs of it such as a fox, a dog, a caterpillar even.

I made a quick CP (very in accurate one albeit) and it just shows the basic structure on a random rectangular piece. You can easily see the legs and the head and the tail on it.
