The theme for this month is masks.
If you're in a Halloween mood (like I am nearly constantly) you could fold a favorite character and/or a full sized, functional mask...

Or you could fold a beautiful, non-functional objet d′art...

You needn't be so representational either, if you're in a more abstract mood...

This month's challenge is really whatever you choose to make of it. Have fun.
A few rules:
-Use a single uncut sheet. It can be any rectangle (including a square), an equilateral or isosceles right triangle, or any other regular polygon (i.e. all sides have the same length and all corners lie on the same circle).
-The model has to be designed by you, this month.
-Enter as many models as you like.
-Sinubuj will judge this month's challenge and choose the theme for next month.

Not sure this qualifies (see the shape of the sheet at the end of my post), but as I fold loads of masks anyway, here is the one I just finished :

It doesn't overtly break any of the rules, so it's okay by me. I've always thought a certain amount of clever rule-bending is to be expected and even encouraged in the monthly challenges.

I'm not sure if I'm able to design a mask, but thank you for me pointing towards origami joel's flickr page. The faces he makes are mindblowing incredible. I never seen origami like that before!

I just wanted to offer an idea. Someone should try to make a tribute to any slasher movie in this Halloween. There's so many cool looking masks from those movies just waiting to be folded in origami
Just an idea.

No actual prizes, but you can consider these things as a prize:
If you win a monthly challenge:
1. Judge the next month.
2. Deciding the theme for the month after you judged.
For the rest:
3. Improving your skills because you designed something.
4. The awesome feeling that you managed to design something.
5. Adding something to the Origami community.
6. Eternal glory

Hey, just one last question, sorry im new but would it be allowed to use some technuques i disovered in a book, origami tesselations.. they show triangle grids and triangle/rhombus/hex twists.. i can imagine making a really cool mask with tesselation method since you can put anything wherever you want but im not sure if its allowed since the triangle grid is in a book and the twists and stuff too.. but I see this more as stuff like some guys would see an open sink as but just to be on the safe side...

Linxy -> You can use pretty much whatever technique you want. If you think about it, the valley fold is in a book, so that would fall into the same category.
