Re: Monthly Folding Challenge: February 2014
high time to post my contribution. it is an envelope you can pop up to a third dimension - if you like to. i hope it will suit the geometry-topic ... have you seen this design somewhere else before, please let me know about that - but keep in mind that i found it by playing not by copying.
if you're going to visit my little flickr_gallery, please leave a comment - a critical one is welcome, too, if necessary: http://www.flickr.com/photos/57625237@N02/

Great success for participation this month.
A warning to all of you who, like me, forgot that February has 28 days. So if you have designs pending submission...quick!

Flickr에서 green cube님의 Korean National Treasure No.95
Only few hours left! I've made it!!! Yeeee
Real thing picture Link : http://cfs7.blog.daum.net/image/15/blog ... %A1%9C.jpg
If the link doesn't work, please enter 'Korean national treasure 95' in google and see the pic..
------------------------------
National Treasure of South Korea No. 95
Chil-bo Openworked Celadon Incense Burner
청자칠보투각향로
(靑磁七寶透刻香爐)
Used paper : 6 sheets of Notebook paper 15cm x 15cm
Model made for February English forum challenge.
All sides are full and same, and the total amount of petals in the lotus flower is 45, with 9 small petals and 5 leaves holding up the balance and weight(=59)
Box-pleat,hexa-pleat,penta-pleat mixed..
Hardest part in designing this one was the sphere, which isn't same as the real thing, but it's full-sided and it is connected to the bottom board and Imight be the first one to succeed on this kind of geometrical form...maybe..
Anyway! I didn't have much time to spend on origami recently so I folded this in almost every sparetime I got during my studies, so I hope you don't see it bad
It's night so I couldn't find any place bright enough so please don't talk about the light...

Wow, there are great things this month!
Sadly, I have no time at the moment to fold anything except for some small, crumpled things in school.

Dear friends! Thank you all for participation in this challenge. There is so much wonderful works that I am got lost between them . . Please give me couple days to decide and announce the winers. But in order to not lose the time I'll start the march's challenge. Thanks for understanding.
Re: Monthly Folding Challenge: February 2014
It was really very very hard to judge but finally I am ready to announce the winners of this challenge.
But first of all I want to thank everyone who submitted works. I like all designs, all these colorful models, boxes, action models, architecture, tools and insects. Thank you very much for adding so much colors to this topic.
It was difficult but I had to choose between them all. And I decided to share the third place between
from dub-a-dee for the expressing the subject with the gorgeous simplicity
and
from firstfold for this color changing model.
The second place goes to greencube07
Thanks for such a complex tessellations you designed and I like your model for it's deep cultural meaning.
And the winner is......
from quiet marverick
Very funny expression, nice shaping and very interesting expression of the subject!
Thank you all for participating and welcome to the March Challenge!
