Monthly Folding Challenge: February 2014

This months topic will be:
Geometry.

Geometry governs origami so this should not be a difficult challenge to think something up for.
From wikipedia:
Geometry is a branch of mathematics concerned with questions of shape, size, relative position of figures, and the properties of space.

However, you do not have to make something that has anything to do with mathematics. The point of this challenge is to emphasize geometric qualities of models. For example:

Roman Diaz's hen:

Jun Maekawa's Santa:

Rebecca Giesking's diagonal shift variant (or any of her models in general):

Beth Johnson's bird:

As you can see these models all emphasize some aspect of geometry.

But do not let that limit your imagination. Tessellations obviously are included in this topic, as well as models that generally have to do with the mathematics, or even models that are about geometry.

For example, Alexander Kurth's "Guardian of the Last Geometry" is thematically about geometry, but also is all about geometry and curves.

It is a very wide theme as you can see.

Rules:
- Any number of sheets or shape of sheets.
- no cutting or adhesive
- MC is allowed for purpose of shaping.

Good luck to everyone!
Marmalade will be the judge for this month.

I think I can come up with something pretty fast.

Thank you Razzmatazz! I am proud with this!
So, I guess, according to the rules, I can't participate this month and may be next month also?

as far as i know, you can participate in both challenges but it'll be out of judge then. with being amazed by your horse design, i would really like to see what you're going to design out of "geometry", marmalade.

Yes, what akugami said is accurate. Go ahead and participate in all the challenges, it's just you can't win. So don't go picking yourself as the winner. :P

I've been wanting a topic such as this one forever and since I don't participate much in the other figurative challenges my chances of winning one of those challenges so that I could start this challenge were very slim.

Now I'll have to work on something.

Razzmatazz, thanks so much for featuring my model! I'm not sure if I'll enter anything (almost all my models require a bit of glue), but it's great to see a topic more inclusive of designers who don't just do representational models.

time to start designing! one more thing, if there are color changes in the subject is it necessary to have it in the finished model?

It is not necessary to even have a subject. The point of the challenge is to emphasize the geometric qualities of origami.
As mentioned in the topic post, you are even able to do tessellations and just "mathematically-minded" models.

So, can I assume that several entries are allowed per person? I already created something but it is nothing special, so I don't want to waste my chance because I think I can come up with something better later on during the month.

Folded from two squares (1 for each prism segment) and 1 rectangle (for the pivot using Santee's Swivel).
