Suggest-A-Fold!

It almost time for the gift giving season, so I thought that we might as well make it a challenge giving season as well! So I'd like to start Suggest-A-Fold! This is open to designers and folders alike.

The rules are simple:

-Choose a forum member
-Look at their flickr page (if they have one), and/or any photos posted on the site of models they've completed.
-Suggest either a pre-existing model you think they'd like to fold, and/or a design challenge you think they'd enjoy taking on.

The point of this is to show other members you're interested in their work, and recognize their style and preferences. Don't suggest something you think is completely out of their range/comfort zone, but rather something right up their alley that you haven't seen them do yet.

I like this idea. I'd like to see you design a bird of some sort, maybe a pelican.

Phillip, why don't you fold a praying mantis? There's an easy one by LaFosse that I'm fond of, but if you want more of a challenge, it's a popular subject-- I'm sure you can find something that suits your appetite.

Andrew, have you ever done a nautilus? I think that would be a good model for you to design because of the math involved in the shell and the packing requirements of all the tentacles. ;)

What book is the one by LaFosse in? I'd love to fold it.
I had actually started folded Kamiya's Mantis shortly after you posted that message, before I even read it. Crazy, right?

Phillip, Lafosse' Mantis can be found in his book, Advanced Origami.

I just made a prototype of the model, I should be finished tweaking it tonight and maybe make the paper for the model tomorrow.

Thank you! It was going to be more complex, but I couldn't figure out a few things.

Swapnil, how about folding another pokemon design? I really liked your Oddish model, and I think you'll make another splendid model out of this topic! :D

Balto, since you do so many insects, I wonder if you'd like to make a House Centipede?

you beat me to it >.<
I was going to say
Balto, since you do so many insects, I wonder if you'd challenge yourself to add a color change to one of them?

Color changing house centipede? Or maybe... suave tuxedo centipede!

I've tried Scutigera a couple times, never gotten one that was too satisfactory though. And a color-changed insect is definitely not out of the question, but it would be really tricky for me. Thanks for the suggestions!

Here's my best attempt so far at a color-changed insect:
