I will draw the diagram by myself, if you are not skilled diagrammer. Photo diagram is absolutely OK for this purpose. Thank you for your contribution.

Does that mean that all the diagrams of the models participating in this challenge will be included in the book?

My primary idea was that I will choose one model. I have no specific method or criterions how to choose one, but the most complex model is not a winner automatically. I would like to look on the folding sequence too, so please make a (photo)diagram. Maybe, I will choose more models, when I will see all contribution, who knows. But I offer to you, that I will draw the diagram for not-selected models (after finishing the book, i.e. approx. in May).

Thanks Ondrej. That's pretty cool of you. How do we share with you the photo-diagrams? Also, if my model wins can I post my photo-diagrams of the model in the future, for example a year after the publication of the book?

Coincidentially, yesterday I created a model that starts with two blintz bases on the same side. I didn't have the book in mind, it just ended up being folded that way. It's pretty basic so I'll ask around if it had already been created. I just thought about sharing that with you guys ;).

Use please my email ondrej.cibulka.origami at gmail dot com for sharing the diagram in zip file.

I cannot pay to you for the permission to publish your model so I cannot lay any restriction about publishing of your photo-diagram. Please use it as you want.

Show your new model here, it will be interesting! :-)

OK, here's the model created from two blintz bases folded on the same side: a frame. I taught it to two friends of mine: mother and daughter. Here are their folds.

This one was folded by my little friend, she's seven years old :).

And this one by her mother, also my friend :).

I want to be clear about two things:

1. This model isn't participating in this challenge. Since it isn't folded from a variation of a fortune teller it can't participate.

2. I won't claim it as a design of mine until I'm sure no one else had created it before with the same, or a similar, locking mechanism.

Hope you guys like it! Hopefully I'll fold my model for the challenge this thursday ;).

This is my entry for the challenge. It's my first kusudama:

Image
Crystal Ball

It's made out of 30 fortune tellers.
It has 12 five-pointed stars and 20 triangles.

The kids of Fundación Vida y Arte (Life and Art Foundation), in Bogotá/Colombia, helped me fold it today. I want to thank Alexander Rodríguez, their origami teacher, for allowing me to fold it with them.

So what do you guys think?

Changing subject, Ondrej can we extend the challenge's deadline (for another month for example)? I would like to invite people that aren't part of the forum to participate as well. If you accept, I would tell them to send their entry models to your email address so you can show them here. What do you think Ondrej?

Hi!

Kusudama is something different. I know some application of fortune teller:

Anyway, your model looks very impressive and your idea to fold it with children is excellent. Thank you for your participation.

Please, ask your friends to participate to this challenge! I am look forward to find more interesting models. :-)

Thank you very much for your kind words. I'm very flattered :)!

Have you already checked out the photo-diagrams for Crystal Ball?

I'm glad you agreed to receive more participations through your email address! So exactly when should the new deadline be? Please share every participating model here Ondrej. I REALLY wanna see what people come up with :D!

I made a video spinning the first Crystal Ball I folded. The video gives a better idea of the model's shape and also how it looks when you fold it with the same two-colored paper.

Here's the link to the video: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1225995070749802

I wish it had a better quality. I'm definitely better at taking pictures .

PS: HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWAPNIL DAS :D!

Thank you Gerardo for the video. Now it is very clean and looks fantastic. And the movie is good! :-)

I obtained one contribution to the challenge by email. I am waiting for the diagram. I will send here the picture after that.

I am sorry for silence, I was very bussy last days.
