Lady Dragon Slayer

I've named the Dragon Slayer "Hillary". I guess you know what to name the Dragon?

The entire assembly Hillary, the sword, the dragon and the base is just one uncut folded long rectangle.

I've gone for a modern art look rather than for realism. I think that better portrays the "symbolism" of this model.

Okay, I am still on time, so that is good! :D
Took me long enough though. This is my dragon design:
Hopefully the pics work! Let me know if they don't.

(Lots of photos, I know!) Hopefully that works! For now I am putting the photos as links to Flickr, because I don't know how to do it any other way - if anyone could help me with this, please let me know...
I will post pics of another fold in just a minute...

Those were with some sort of textured foil (wish I knew where I bought it!) - these are with Nicolas Terry Tissue Foil - pretty good, but a little bit thick for this design in some spots.

There you go! (URLs again) If you are really interested, there are more photos on that Flickr (as if I haven't shown you enough yet...). Hope you like the design!

*Expletive* my laziness, I was gonna have a Hydra with 15 heads, but I kept pushing it off so it would be harder to beat my record, and rather than do the smart thing and fold it, then submit last minute, I'm not even done yet with the 15-headed version. At any rate, here is a completed 3-headed and prototype 10-headed so I can at least join in, and not be all talk:
3 heads
10 heads
If judging ends up being done late enough, I may have the 15-headed one done, but that would be both unpredictable as far as timing and somewhat unfair, since it could be considered a late submission

Embedding pictures from flickr:
On the bottom right of the flickr pages you posted the links to, are three symbols: a star, a hollow arrow that goes to the right and an arrow that points downward to a line.
Klick the hollow arrow that goes to the right.
There are several tabs, choose BBCode.
There are two fields, one with a changing link and a second with a downward arrow.
Click the arrow and choose middle 640x480 (the second number varies depending on the hight of the picture but is not so important), then copy and paste the link to here.
Done.

Hi all,

It was really hard to decide on this months winner. I somewhat dreaded the task this morning.
I am completely in love with the design of Edg so he wins this months competition :!:
Second place goes to Bodo for his amazing model with colourchange in the wings.
Thirdplace goes to Pete, I really like what you did with the birdbase! Looks like a model that could easily be published in a book.

 Out of personal interest I want to thank everybody who send in multiple-head-dragons. I have been toying with the idea fo a multi-headed-dragon for some time and think it's interesting to see your solutions. I guess, if we change some of the heads to limbs, we could create a whole wealth of other creatures.

Thanks to all! I have had great fun watching all entries this month! See you around in the other competitions!
Kind regards,

BM

Congratulations to the winners!
It was an awesome competition and really fun that so many participated.
And don't forget, even if your model might not have won officially taking part is what really counts. :D

It's no wonder there were so many entries (and so many good ones) for this month challenge, it can be summarized in one word, TOPIC. Future winners should take notice before choosing boring subjects for the next month challenge.

Don't forget to create the 'August Folding Challenge'!

(the winner gets to judge next month, and creates the topic for next-next month)

If you already knew, and you were just thinking about what topic to create, you can just ignore this post...
