Origami Challenge: sea life

In this challenge you can try to make your own design having to do with things living in the ocean.
1. Has to be an original design.
2.Must have something to do with sea life.
3.one sheet of paper with no cuts.

Ah... Ok, maybe this thread can get me motivated to start designing again. I really want to make a sea turtle since too many models are too simple and lacking scutes, except for Kamiya's. But as much as I love that model, there are a few things I would change...

yeah i made a sea turtule with a hexagon shell, but it didnt have a pattern on it.

This is my 2nd version of the Bottlenose Dolphin. Close-backed and only one line running across the body, so quite stream-lined. Some people think the head area needs a bit of work. Any ideas/ criticism is welcomed.

Hey don't listen to those other people! That is a great dolphin! The only thing I don't like about it is the fin-I would personally give it some more definition from the rest of the body.

The dolphin is difficult to photograph, because if you get a side on view, you cant see the tail fin. And then when you get a back- or front view, you can't see the dorsal fin! But I agree with all the input. I think foil might work better to get more definition from the rest of the body. Thank you!

That model is perfect! The only way you could improve it would be to diagram it.

I like the dolphin what kind of paper was used and how complex was it to fold?

Hey Tim
I got some ordinary paper (I think 80gsm) from an art store. It is silver on one side and white on the other. I think foil could work well also. Sorry, Im not the expert on folding. I designed this model a few weeks ago, but it is not difficult at all. Some Squash folds, some Reverse folds. One easy closed sink. That's it!. It is not diagrammed yet though. I hope to get to the diagramming soon.

great foldings so far!

it's difficult to prefer one cause they are so good... the star cannot be a favorite, the dolphin is so elegant, the seahorse pure fun!

how long does this challenge lasts?
i'd like to contribute even if "sea life" is not my current scenario, but seeing how it's going it would be so good and rewarding to work on it, to join
