Re: monthly folding challenge: August 2011
Cupid is the Roman god of erotic love (basically the Roman equivalent of the Greek god Eros), and as such is not an angel (Cupid predates Christianity--in Jewish and early Christian depictions, angels did not have wings, and winged angels were a later creation that happened to catch on). The Western icon of "Cupid" is a small cherub, which I suppose is a type of angel, but traditional Roman depictions of Cupid were as a man that had wings and a bow--that's a normally-proportioned man, not the baby-ish cherub that is, for some reason, the Western icon. So I guess it would depend on whether your model were intended to depict Cupid as originally intended by the Romans (not an angel) or as the western icon that is called, perhaps incorrectly, "Cupid."
