Nor do I have any issues with scrolling and zooming. That may be because i'm using an iPad, but who knows.
It looks good Stacy, but how would we implement it? I have no experience with mobile web programming whatsoever, so I wouldn't know. The programming languages I learned back in grade school are becoming obsolete, it seems.

I just had a revelation. Anna (origami_8) may have FTP access, or at least the permission to install the tapatalk mod, so I'll ask her about it. I'll just hope that Sajid installed automod sometime in the past, but I doubt it as I don't see it in the CP... damn.

I did this with some research, so I wouldn't know for sure. You can add code to make a page recognize if it is opened by a mobile device or a computer though.
The biggest problem would be making the forum posts (nice layout etc) and login work. I for sure cannot do this as of now (I primarily know HTML and CSS with some scraps of other languages).
Making this work using jQuery requires knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, MySQL/SQL at least. (probably some Ajax as well).
Try with tapatalk, else just bad luck, or hope someone else has some mad skillz :P

Yes, thats the same problem I was thinking. Anything that uses form submission in general would be a problem, as we'd pretty much have to remake parts of PHPbb3 in order to make it work. Sounds like fun.
Technically, we have 4 choices for this:
Make a mobile them from scratch, as you were doing
Make an app specifically for this forum, where revenue could be used to pay for hosting.
Install tapatalk
Do nothing

I know HTML, CSS, and some PHP and Java. But I know nothing about MySQL or SQL, much less Ajax. It would be way more work than its worth to learn those other languages, (though i'm sure we have some "mad skillz" people on this forum who know those)

Problem is with the first two options I listed is that no one would really be willing to do them, as far as I know. The revenue generated from a app specifically for this forum would be in the negatives - unless we used TPB and uTorrent which doesn't look very good for a well known, reputable forum. Tapatalk would be the easiest, cheapest option, but personally I wouldn't pay for it. I don't mind having slight issues if it saves me money :D

Edit: I am running a test on my website now, will post a link once I get PHPbb and tapatalk installed, i need someone with the Tapatalk app to help me test. thanks!

test forum live @ http://phillipcurl.co.cc/tests/phpBB3

I installed automod and tapatalk successfully, it was rather easy. It took about an hour, but I got valuable knowledge.
Can someone who has tapatalk visit the test forum and see if it works? I don't have tapatalk and don't plan on buying it anytime soon, so if you could do me this one favor it would be greatly appreciated!

I installed tapatalk to try your forum. The first time I opened the link it told me that this forum supports tapatalk. But after installing the app (iOS6) it just opens the site in the browser regularly. And I cannot find the forum using the search in the app.
Any clues?

I didn't index the site, thats why you can't search for it. as long as that link comes up, it means it works.

So i guess we can proceed to install it here, as soon as Sajid sees my message...

Phillipcurl, have you heard something from Sajid? Did you make some progress getting tapatalk to work?

He hasn't read my message yet, and Anna said only he has access to the FTP. If he doesn't respond in a few days, i'll try directly emailing him.

LOL at the "Do nothing" part. To put an app on the App Store, it's an automatic $99.99 just to put it on the store. I'm not so good with technology, so I don't know who would make the app though.

I would much prefer a CSS/JS option as opposed to TapATalk, but there don't appear to be any available for phpBB, which is a pity.

Tapatalk has now been installed successfully, sans the annoying pop up.

Simply install Tapatalk

https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/tapatal ... 80732?mt=8

And search for 'Origami Forum'.

Enjoy!

After having been away for awhile I found out that you made it finally work. Thanks a lot.
It works perfect now with tapatalk.
