Hey guys
Hope You dont mind me opening new topic but i got few questions i would love to get some help on.
I recently found Paper&bookbinding supplies shop that sells some very,very interesting papers.But since its more about bookbinding theres no information is it suitable for crafts like origami.
The two papers that got my attention are sold in rolls:
Tea paper roll 66cm x 20m and 34g/m2 for 33 euro,it is made from kozo and sulphite pulp
Tea paper roll link
Shoji natural roll 96cm x 20m and 32g/m2 for around 80 euro made from 100% kozo fibers
Shoji roll link
They also have some beautiful kozo and gampi.One thing that stops me from ordering it is if those papers hold creases well and can be used for origami?
Link to the kozo paper is Kozo paper link
If You have any opinions on those papers i will be glad for every info and advice.

Re: Paper - Preferred folding material
I really like to use wrapping paper for models which require larger paper. Also, for wet folding, I've found that watercolor paper works very well due its thickness and the fact that it doesn't easily tear.

Re: Paper - Preferred folding material
one cannot buy traditional tissue foil, you have to make it.
nicolas terry sells something he calls tissue foil on origami-shop, and that site and paperjade.com are the only places i know of that sells it. be aware that texture-wise and practically it is apparently very different from traditional tissue foil.

Re: Paper - Preferred folding material
For a first fold, I like using tracing paper, because
1. It holds creases really well;
2. It`s translucent, allowing me to see through layers of paper;
3. While it`s translucent any crease that is done on it becomes opaque. If you fold a model to a base, and the unfold, the cp can be seen very clearly.
Since it`s very stiff, however, it`s hard to unfold and reverse fold creases, but I got used to it over time.

Re: Paper - Preferred folding material
I like foil paper in general. However, when doing a first fold, I use test paper, or something that's cheap and pretty decent, because usually the first attempt doesn't turn out very well (although the kirin I folded today actually looks something like a kirin).
Something that helps me fold is this wooden stick thing that I purchased from origamishop (called "origami weapon"). It can make extremely accurate folds and even reverse sink folds and help in spread-sinking.
