Newspaper Foil

Post by chesscuber98 »

Ok, i was testing this new CMC replacement i got and i was struck by an idea, Newspapers are as thin as tissue, so why cant they be used with foil to make a paper. So I cmc'ed the foil, and put the sheet of Newspaper. Suprisingly the air bubbles came of far more easily compared to normal paper. After drying i cut a 20x20 cm square and tried Stephan Webber's Bull. It came out satisfactory. So, What do you think and has anyone tried this before?

Picture please of the folded model?! It does sound like interesting looking paper. If it looks nice I'll give it a try.

In my opinion newspaper is thicker than tissue paper. Interesting idea though and I too would like to see the folded model :)

Thats a good fold! The only problem I found in this paper for intermediate eo high intermediate models, is the lack of colour. I will post the picture as soon as i can.

Good idea! I imagine this would only work for simple through high intermediate models though.

As you can see the paper can be shaped. Since i was folding in a hurry and through memory it is not exact.
If you have any other questions go ahead and ask me !

Maybe using newspaper-foil-newspaper would make for some better looking paper. Still ir looks like fun to create something with someday.
Would it be possible to use MC-based glue on a newspaper? Or would the ink of the paper 'leak'?

other than if someone desired to create the "print" effect as illustrated, is there a reason why one would want to do this?

seems like your fingers would be guaranteed to be black after the end of a folding session.

If you live in a country with no tissue paper than will you fold plain foil?

@ roodborst - As far as i know i dont think the ink will leak.
@ bethnor -Its a very cheap alternative to tissue foil and is much easier to make.
