hello every one....
in my coutry origami paper or shall i say a suitable paper for origami is not available.... the papers that are common here are copy paper and gift wrapping paper.

i tried once to use crepe paper, as it is unfoldable i added foil to it and woked on it to produce a lovely spider. that, however, doesn't work for many shapes .... anybody knows or have any idea from where to get papers suitable for origami..... specially the papers suitable for a lot of shapping ???
online websites with good prices are acceptable too..

would really like trying tissue-foil, but i cant find tissue papers in my town

Well, technically crepe paper is a kind of tissue paper
You could try to find tracing paper, or maybe try to fold with wrapping paper. After you folded something you can use wetfolding to shape some parts of the figure, which can be done with any paper.
Also, folding with crepe paper/tissue paper can be hard, but it produces a nice result with insects.

as u said folding with crepe was hard... but i think i should use it frequently to get used to it..
i just tried tracing papers... its very crisp, i like it.. but its hard to wetfold .. i should try wrapping paper too.

Bringing an oldish post back up...

I'm not sure if you have this, but do you have kraft paper where you live? It's usually the paper that thin paper bags are made of--you can cut the sides into squares and use them for folding, or paint the outside for different colors. It's also the kind of thin brown paper that's used for wrapping sandwiches.

we dont have an open range of this paper sizes (in my country), but it is a good material i believe.

i really wish, but they are at high prices to ship to my country "which i cant afford", i have hit many sites including origamishop, but they are all out of my reach.
instead i try to find other alternatives that will work fine folding complex models, that can be found locally.

Actually, I'm assuming you have aluminum foil, right? You can make your own tissue foil or just fold with regular aluminum foil. It doesn't actually fold too bad unless you wrinkled the foil a lot before hand.

the first website wants me to order via post mail XD, which is pretty unconvincing.

the second website is actually awsome, but not in the origami section, it has 2 papers that caugh my eyes with wights of 37 and 25 gsm.

the last website doesnt look trustworthy. but i should have a go as they have free shipping and a wide range of mulberry unryu.
