The beak is basically just a rabbit ear, leaving the center part sticking straight up, then outside reverse fold that part.

i also thought like you, but when i made the beak, it connected with the eyebrows and made it shorter

you need to valley fold along the dotted line. the entire side of the owl swings together

Image

the front bits of the eye:

silmoultaneously valley fold on the red line and mountain fold the blue line, while you are doing the pervious step.

Here is another view of the eye and one of the feet:

hope that clarifies things :D

can someone point out the reference points for me i do not know how to get them though i have gotten a few of them

The reference points in this CP are very straight-forward. All the angles are multiples of 22.5 (birdbase-angle), the point in the middle is exactly the middle of the square. To get the reference points you will need the two diagonals and the horizontal and vertical midline.

that couple is so cute, i am surprised you made the branch by your own
about this model, i suggest use glue to close the abdoment, no need for tape, if you fold it correctly, just glue the tail and it will automatically works out well

the part under the eyes is wrong I think, this big triangle of the body must be below the eyes, not on the top. I do not know how to explain. Look at the yellow owl of letranthedung you will understand.

uhm, seems like this is right, i didn't notice that, i made the same mistake when i did it the fist time, cos the folding sequence is simple so i skipped some steps
by the way, my owl is green, it looks yellow since the light were orange, hehe :P

Hello. I`m a new user of forum, i come from Poland. I `m impressed with your folding. iI`ve tried recently to fold the owl. I`ve given up. I find difficulty in folding from crease patterns. I think I`ll put efforts to fold it once again.
