ODS Chap 7 on Pattern Grafting is on p. 187

Section 7.2 on Pleated Textures is on p. 194

Grr the annoying thing about this pangolin is all the precreasing!! But I must persist and finish it!! It will be epic!!

P.S. Is there someone who would create clearer diagrams on a computer from my graph paper diagrams? Especially with all of the pleating to make the scales it'll be especially helpful

It's a photo made by Eric himself to show some aspects of his last pangolin's folding process.

So as it was said it is a really simple model just the tedious building of the scales and the difficult shaping in the end to make that tassellated mat look like an actual pangolin.
It looks really nice actually

Grr!! I was doing so well, and now I think it'd just be easiest if I restarted. I didn't think about how I could do the scales more logically that I actually had to make fewer, but Idk, this still might work right now!! I hope I don't hafta start all over again!!

It's a great model. And, even if you had diagrams, you know you'd have to fold it 3 or 4 times to get a clean representation....

Oi!! Life size pangolins range from 3 to 6 feet long, depending on the species!! I'm gonna need a huge-butt piece of paper to make the 3 foot mark!! I'll have the sizes in the book!!

I can do this.. ...the hard part will be coming up with an equation to have a set of pleats getting perpetually smaller, that will fit the pangolin's exact needs.

There's no way to be certain, but I'd bet good money that Joisel just eyeballed it. I don't think you need an equation.

Re: 3 - 6 foot long

From Google, I found:
Eric's model is 22in long, wetfolded from a single 6 foot square of hand-tinted Kraft paper, using cross pleats of various sizes (Box-pleated ?).
