I am still struggling with the wings. The base collapses to have wings that run from the body out to the edge of the paper. However when I see Kamiya's finished phoneix the whings folds are running nearly the same direction as the body (90 degrees from CP).
In addition to form the head and legs I have the edge portion folded the entire length as shown in the CP. In the final wing is this flap unfolded to extend the wing length?
I have seen some amazing wings folded lately not only of this phoenix but of eagles that are similar in construction. I was wondering if anyone can help me understand how to fold.

Sorry but asking for copyrighted material on this forum is prohibited. But you can purchase the crease pattern from the tanteidan calendar. But you can also find it for free on Satoshi's sight.

Isn't the CP 3.0 though?
I don't know if you can see it clear or not, but you can find it on a video in youtube. I think you search SATOSHI KAMIYA [PHOENIX].
