Ok, I did some more research, and found this:

So it looks like Eric Joisel chose the smallest

Here's Pangolin 1.0
I'm gonna rearrange some of the pleats so that I get a thinner face, and see if I can fix another problem to make it all purdiful!! Also, The next ones will need better shaping strategies!!

That's bodacious ! Looks dry folded. Eric wet-folded, and not sure if he did something to get the right color.
When you finish with Pangolin 4.0 ( or Pangolin 10.0 ?), you might consider sending lots of pictures and maybe diagrams to Eric for his opinions.
I think he might be complimented.

I made all the creases dry, but then, once everything was in place, first I got just the un-shaped scales wet and let them dry between a cookie sheet and a drying rack held together with some large rubber bands. After it was dry, I then added some shaping creases, then I cracked out the yarn and tied up the thinger and soaked it, placed it on a drying rack an let it dry over an ac vent. I think next time I'll like wrap a paper towel under the yarn so the scales stay down and don't poof up!!
Could you experiment with this one - as practice for the next ones - and dry roll a small towel or washcloth, stuffed inside the model, spray it with a little water, mold it similar to Eric's model, then let it dry in the sun. You may need to flatten some scales with clothes pins or paperclips.
I think a little shaping will make this one look much better and give you ideas for the next versions...

Haha it definitely did inspire me for version 2 making the model!! It's a pangolin, not a star-nosed mole!! haha I'm relocating some scales to improve the head. It will take a bit before I can post completed pictures, cuz I hafta add sooo many precreases, and then do the crapload of pleats, and finally form the scales before the final shaping, etc.!!
