I recommend for dragon - 1x1m, but I fold this from 500x500mm and my conclusion is what bigger size of paper better for details of model

It's probably too thick, at 70gsm.

i have already posted some pictures of my finished ancient dragon in this post, i made it with kraft paper, about 1,40mx1,40m... i bought the worst paper you can buy in the market, and though im not the best folder at all, it looks good for me :) this model took me like 4 or 5 atempts, to make something nice... it was the 6th model i folded...

well from your picture i cant see the creases well but i think is how it should be creased. blue = mountain, red = valley
and i drew the same lines on my picture so you can compare.

that looks about right. your starting sheet of paper looks to be a little on the small side, so you might have trouble with the finishing and detailing.

It's hard to tell for sure, the pics are a bit small ... but it seems that it's not quite correct. The tip should lie on the center crease, but in dude22's pictures it seems to lie on the lefthand edge of the pleats. Also, the diamond-folded section on the right of the tip, and the connection to same, seems fishy: the folded edge right from the tip should descent downwards and hit the vertical edge, but it seems to ascent and hit the corner ontop of the vertical edge. Which is not correct.

Encouraging words: the maneuver in these steps is one of the most genuine solutions (breaking out of a pleat with minimal transition) that the Ancient Dragon has to offer at all. It's a good lesson.

you're quite right. apologies.

yes, this part and the pleats to form the claws are the best parts of the model, imho. the rest is a chore.

@dude22 Its ok you're not alone. i made a similar mistake the first time i tried to fold the model.

You couldnt collapse the bird-base in step 83 because a layer would get stuck right? just make sure you follow steps like 50-59 carefully

I actually didnt start over when i made that mistake... i just carefully unfolded what i had already and refolded it, following the steps carefully, but it did compromise the cleanliness of the folding.
