So I have done this model twice now, and someplace in it I screwed it up the same way both times. I think I am screwing up steps 18-20 somehow maybe, so that when I get down to step 42, I don't have the little split in the paper at the top like is shown in the diagrams. Somehow that stuff is connected, and my neck and tail are connected down into were the feet are, so when I get to the point where I reverse fold the neck and tail down, they are connected all the way to the bottom of the feet, so to get them at the right level, they are shorter than they should be, and there are too many layers in the legs portion of the model, so I can't shape the legs like I should.
The wings and head and what not are fine, and the model can be finished, but the tail and neck are both significantly shorter than they should be.
I know I probably didn't describe it all that well, but if this sounds familiar to you and you can help me out, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks,

I think maybe your problem is step 15, make sure that you sink only the center areas, and not the pleated parts. This (i think) is where the split comes from in the diagrams.

If it's just mountain and valley folds, how hard could it be?

Re: Need help with Shuki Kato Simple Dragon
I was thinking that maybe it was a problem with the sink too, but I don't know. The first time I did the sink, I did the whole thing, but if you do that, step 16 doesn't work, so I think I am doing it right. I am not sure if there are extra flaps that get locked in on 16 if you do it wrong or what. The split is there when I go to steps 16 and 17, but somehow not when I get down to 43. All the steps seem to work correctly until I get to almost the very end, so its hard to tell what I am doing wrong or when exactly it is happening.
I'll probably try again...

Well, the steps after that do not interfere with step and stuff, so if you're doing something wrong then it wouldn't show up in those layers. I would advise you to fold it again, carefully paying attention to the diagrams, and if you encounter the problem again, post some pictures with the problem. When i folded it everything seemed to work, so i should be able to help

i have made this model several times and i have never had this problem. i can see how it would be easy to make the mistake though.

Re: Need help with Shuki Kato Simple Dragon
Thanks for all the help guys, I figured it out on my third attempt at the model. My problem was with steps 21 and 33 where you open sink the sides of the wings in. I was not opening the fold up enough before sinking it in, and in the process trapping in a flap of the paper that blocked me from folding the neck and tail down far enough.
I'll post pics of the right and the wrong just for record when I get a chance.
