Hi everyone, I am currently a graphic design student and one of my final project for this spring semester is to do packaging design. I kind of got down the gist of how to do this but presentation wise, it's pretty bad. I've made my ceases clean and sharp but the folding part makes the overall form very hideous. Could anyone provide some insight or possibly your own process in making this piece to fold it as beautiful and clean as possible?

have you tried different types of paper. light cardstock, vellum paper perhaps?

Could use thick card stock then score with an knife on the "mountain" side of the folds. Use a ruler and it is very clean. If you don't want to compromise the strength of the creases by cutting it, just emboss with an empty pen or dull pointy object.
Essentially you just have to look into all the techniques papercrafters use.
