I don't understand how do I get from step 2b to step 3a. I can crease the octagon in the center but I don't understand what references must I use to go from there to what's seen in 3a.
Please help me guys .

The two folds at the bottom of 3a (which meet under her forefinger) are on two adjacent creases of the central hexagon; the red edge under her middle finger is the (red) mountain fold connecting these two creases (one of those drawn in 2a, under either of her fingers).
It is a bit like folding half a fish base (rabbit ear!) and flipping the resulting small triangular flap to the left.
(Note that, here, this isn't a triangular flap because the edge of the paper is circular).
Then, you need to add the valley fold shown on the red part, starting at the right from the bottom of the drawn mountain fold, and going up and left to the end of the next mountain fold (crease not drawn) on the border of the paper.
You probably want to precrease that valley fold before folding the rabbit ear though, so that it is easier and more precise.
Not sure if it's clear, sorry!
Please ask again if you don't understand me...
PS: Her nickname is Mélisande*, with only one 's' and a '*' at the end.

Also, thank you for correcting my spelling of the creator's nam.e. Fixed it .

Glad you got it! Please show us a picture when you're satisfied with your result.
I understand my text is not very clear, but I don't have any available camera right now - sorry...
(Also, the valley fold drawn on the red part on step 3a is what you get when you flip the rabbit ear flap to the left, so no need to pre-crease it as I advised in my previous message... I should have folded the model before trying to help you anyway!)

Actually, reading carefully what you wrote was what helped me. Thanks again!
Well, I just wanted to reach step 3b. Here's my result with a tortilla. It's my first attempt, so I hope to do it better next time .
