Kamiya Pegasus 3.0 crease pattern

Post by NeverCeaseToCrease »

Hi everybody,
I have found the crease pattern for Satoshi Kamiya's newest pegasus 3.0:
http://www.folders.jp/g/2016/1607.html

However, there are no reference points and I'm not very good at folding 22.5 degree crease patterns. There also appear to be super dense creases where the shoulders should be, which I'm not sure how to fold.

Any help would be appreciated.

Here is the reference ( it was drawn for an other model, but the idea is the same )

for folding, I would recommend to make some test folds of the parts you don't understand and when folding the whole thing, I would recommend precreasing all lines, and then collapse it, I don't think that there is a good folding sequence.
hope this helps :D

Ok, I've found the reference points, but which creases on the cp do the reference points correspond to?

I overlayed it but I am failing to see anywhere that the reference points correspond to...

So i threw this together right quick.

The red point on there will be your main reference point. Might be a couple more I missed but I haven't slept in something like 30 hours, so I'm gonna re-check it in the morning. Most everything else you should be able to find with some simple geometry and measurements and of course folding :)

Good luck, this one looks like a pain!

the vertical line on the bottom left side, it's basicially the same point as the one you found.
I drew the reference point for another model on this forum, so you can ignore most of the lines ;)

Thanks, overlapping it was a great idea.
The only thing I don't get is how do I find where the pleats from the hooves meet the 22.5 degree part?

Don't quote me on this, but if you continue the lower bisector on the bottom right, it looks like that meets the other bisector (in Phillip's overlay) at the upper edge of the hoof pleats. From there, just divide that horizontal part into thirds.
After the fall, we rise.

This crease pattern has a very strange section near the shoulder where it is very hard to tell what is happening.

Does anyone know how this bit is folded? It doesn't show so I'll just smoosh it if need be, but I'd like to know how this bit is supposed to be folded. It doesn't help how low definition this CP is. A M/V inkscape CP of this section would be great, if possible.
Thanks :)

Never mind, I tried folding it and it seems to work out - that section isn't nearly as complex as it looks, you can pretty much ignore it and it works itself out.

In his comments on his site Kamiya san explains this is a strange, cloggy and quite not right section
