Dinosaur origami ichthyosaurus Fernando Gilgado help needed

Hello!
I'm really struggling with the origami ichthyosaur in Fernando gilgado gomez's dinosaur origami book. I think i have done all the step correctly and have retried 5 times with various other methods but whenever i get to step 17 where you flip the model over it looks nothing like it does in the diagram, there is supposed to be a triangle pointing up wards but mine has just a blank face.
Any tips or advice would be awesome
