Marie Tessier - Marie's Rose

Post by TheRealChris »

a couple of days ago, I've folded Marie's Rose ( diagrams are available from http://www.folds.net/tutorial/models/ma ... grams.html )

I came through, but my rose doesn't look much like the rose on the picture. have anybody made the same experience with this model? my rose somehow looks more like a water lily than a "real" rose. it's very beautiful, but I'm a bit confused about that fact.

greetings

I folded this rose once:

It doesn't quite look like the illustration in the diagrams either. Nice, though.

Most roses I see "in nature" have a more compressed form, not spread like the 5-sided paper.

Interestingly, the roses seem to have 5 leaves around the bud....

tried to fold, seems like it only works if you have perfectly accurate paper.
