fold a 7 by 7 grid then fold each one in half and half again and you have a 28 by 28 grid

you can fold the model with a 32 grid. Its easier, you get an extra flap for the face and the arms and legs become a bit longer

or a 24 grid

Yeah, but a 24 grid you don't end up with many flaps to shape the details on the face

you are right but with week paper it is better to do it with less flaps for the face because you have less chance to rip the paper which I do some times
