Hi everyone,
I am a young folder and have never done a crease pattern before and it looks very hard from what I have seen on the forum

I was wondering if there were any very simple CPs for me to start with.
Thanks
Jerry
PS - What is the best paper for doing CPs

Hey Jerry!
Welcome to the forum! I'm glad to see another australian folder here. Which city do you live in? I live in sydney!
I'm just starting on cps too and had my first success with komatsu's penguin:

Good luck!

This is probably one of the newbest question ever but how do you tell which one's are mountain folds and which one's are valley folds?

Actually, I didn't find Guspath Go's cat very easy; the first time I folded it, I spent about half an hour trying to figure out which flaps went where, and I still don't think I got it right. Good luck on that one!
I think some of Manuel Sirgo's crease-patterns are easy enough:

You can find a lot more crease patterns here, although most of them are relatively complex:

oh, and I forgot to mention my first CP: Roman Diaz's frog (

Have fun!
