UK Banknotes?

Post by Mabbs »

Hi everyone,

I don't know if there are any apart from the shirt but does anyone have any other models that can be made from UK banknotes. The more straight forward the better but I'll take anything! There are loads for dollar bills online but nothing for our currency.

Thanks

Sorry Chris.

A £5 is 135mm x 70mm

A £10 is 142mm x 75mm

And a £20 is 156mm x 85mm

I can make the shirt from any of them, I can almost make the traditional boat but not quite the right size, maybe with some extra folds would work. There are lots for dollar bills around, not sure if they can be adapted.

£5 note (Elizabeth Fry)
Actual note size: 135mm x 70mm (approx.)

£10 note (Charles Darwin)
Actual note size: 142mm x 75mm (approx.)

£20 note (Adam Smith)
Actual note size: 149mm x 80mm (approx.)

£50 note (Sir John Houblon)
Actual note size: 156mm x 85mm (approx.)

Compare to US dollar bills, all the same size: (6.14 × 2.61 in = 156 × 66.3 mm)

So they are approximately 1:2 rectangles. You could either look out for models from 1:2 rectangles like f.e. my Tie Fighter, or just fold them in half to get thick squares.

If you know Fred Rohm's Star of David from a Dollar bill, you can adapt it to any rectangle. I did it with a 1.000 Colombian Pesos bill
