No, it has nothing to do with the Tanteidan convention books.
When you subscribe to the Tanteidan magazine, you also have the choice
of becoming a full member of the Origami Tanteidan, for $50 extra.
This gives you, apart from the pleasure of supporting international origami, advantages such as attending Tanteidan official meetings,
voting for their council, etc. which are not very useful for a foriegn member, but it also gives you one special treat each year. One of those
treats was a calendar with Satohi Kamiya's Eatern dragon (the long
one with the scales) crease pattern, another was a booklet with
the diagrams for Hojyo Takashi's Icarus, and the last one is Fumiaki Kawahata's formula-1. The dragon's crease pattern can be bought from
the Tanteidan separatly now, for $15, so I guess it will be like that with
the other models, too.
