Folding Instructions for origami chain

Post by lunaB »

Hey all, newbie here with a question for you.

I'm really having a hard time finding instructions to make an origami version of this type of chain:

I found instructions for other types of chains, including those simple circle chains we all made as kids but I really want to make something that looks more like the photo. Can anyone recommend a book or website that has a diagram I can learn from?

Thanks so much for your time! :)

There are diagrams for eight interlocking rings from one square sheet of paper in Jeremy Shafer's book "Origami to Astonish and Amuse" : http://www.barf.cc/jeremy/origami/BOOK/ ... ew_p2.html

Thank you for the idea and for taking the time to comment but his rings are not quite what I'm after. I want to make chain shaped links that look solid and Jeremy's model is very flat and circular :)

Well the circular part is adjustable with shaping, but the 3D Part might be harder to correct. But maybe you can use a variation of Thoki Yenn's Magic Rings to create a 3-Dimensional chain: http://www.britishorigami.info/academic ... ulius.html
